Ask the PR pro: Can I review an article before it’s published?

On rare occasions following an interview, a reporter may offer to send a proof of an article and ask for corrections to anything that’s not accurate. This usually only happens if the material is very technical or complicated. That said, it is insulting to ask a reporter to share an article with you before it’s published. Reporters are professionals and are trained to quickly synthesize and communicate information. The material is credible only if the articles they write are unbiased. Asking to review an article before it is published calls into question their ability and undermines their objectivity.
