When it comes to crises, most expect, few plan

A Forbes blog recently unveiled something we’ve known for some time: when it comes to crises, most companies know they’re vulnerable, but few actually plan for them.

According to a survey of more than 800 business leaders worldwide by Burson-Marsteller, 79 percent said they expect a crisis to hit their company within 12 months. Most believe the crisis will arise from social media.

That’s not the surprising part. Fewer than 25 percent of companies surveyed said they have a crisis communications plan that will deal with social media attacks, and only about half have any kind of crisis communications plan at all.

Do you have a plan?
