Billing Revolution becomes Buck, announces single-click mobile checkout

Mobile payment platform provider Billing Revolution is changing its name and working with some new high-profile partners. The payment start-up announced it has relaunched as Buck and will be providing its new single-click credit card checkout to mobile commerce provider SpyderLynk, social gaming network Papaya Mobile and credit card processor Braintree.

Buck provides what it calls “a mobile express checkout lane for merchants and consumers.” Basically the service lets users enter their payment data once so it’s remembered across sites and platforms the next time they go to purchase a good or service. Once the information is entered the user is a member of the “Buck network” and is recognized by any merchant using Buck, effectively turning the device into a digital wallet. That’s especially handy on mobile devices, where re-entering payment credentials, addresses, etc. can be maddening on a small screen (or when wearing mittens).

“Buck offers a purchasing experience like Amazon, for everyone, all while delivering merchants twice the conversion of other checkouts at half the price,” said Andy Kleitsch, co-founder and CEO Buck.

Kleitsch said that with Buck, merchants remain in control and no longer need to pay the outrageous fees imposed by Apple and Google. He said it enables merchants to safely and securely process transactions across their own merchant account at much lower rates and receive immediate payment.

Apart from being easy to use, Buck said its single-click checkout meets all the same requirements expected from any financial institution including PCI Level 1 compliance and bank-grade device fingerprinting and fraud prevention.
